About this artwork
I am interested in how the medium of paint can evoke imaginative responses and psychological states ; images grow out of the process and my interaction with the materials , I follow a journey with the painting to a point where colour and mark begin to trigger emotive associations , where the paint appears at once tactile and concrete yet simultaneously having the potential for illusion and the capacity to draw on the unconscious .
Paintings evolve… from an experimental engagement with process and materials ; combining both improvisational and premeditated approaches results in certain material and perceptual tensions , implying a sense of space as both a physical and psychological domain .This is a large oil on deep edge canvas - gallery wrap - painting process extends to edges of canvas . Professional quality pigments and mediums are used to ensure longevity and lightfastness of colour and surface . High grade 15 oz canvas and sturdy warp resistant stretcher .

Peggy Cozzi is a British contemporary painter who lives and works in Dorset. She studied painting at Portsmouth University and completed an MA in Fine Art at the Arts University Bournemouth. Cozzi creates colourful abstract paintings and is interested in the physicality of the process.
