We all have a dark side – our shadow selves. Most of us go through life avoiding confrontation with that aspect of ourselves.
With multiple layers of colours, expressive, bold strokes, and textures around the dark rounded shadow, the artist’s intention in this painting is to celebrate and embrace the shadow self. Shadows give depth and dimension to life, shaping the person we are today by embracing our duality in learning to let darkness and light… peacefully co-exist as illumination.

Peisy Ting is a self-taught abstract artist whose work explores the emotional and psychological contrasts that shape the human experience.
