About this artwork
A shamanic and mystical journey into the depths of the unconscious.
Occult and esoteric symbols run through the painting
The different dualities are represented: Life (Ankh symbol) and death (skull), Shadow and light (Black drawings on a Yellow background), the Taoist principle Yin and Yang (masculine and feminine), King and Queen, representation of the molecular structures Testosterone and Cortisol which operate inside us.
The coupling between… man and woman takes the form of a killing:
First reading/subliminal representation of a toxic and deadly relationship.
Second reading: Reaction to orgasm (the little death)
The bed on which the man lies is represented by a coffin or a heart ♥️ …And in the other direction the reflection of the heart becomes an Ace of spades ♠️ (symbol representing penetration)
The staircase leading to the skull with Pluto written on it embodies rebirth through death.

Pejman Ebadi, self-taught since his Parisian childhood, uses acrylic as his medium. His distinct style blends the abstract and the figurative, questioning the animal, plant, and mineral kingdoms through the exploration of his subconscious. Ebadi instills an emotional duality, alternating between shadow and light, to evoke deep emotions, sometimes revealing traces of shamanism throughout his work.
