About this artwork
The technique employed is deliberately material; I favored broad, thick brushstrokes, at times almost sculptural, which leave a clear trace of color on the canvas. This stylistic choice does not aim for photographic perfection, but rather to evoke a sensation, an immediate emotion. The brushstrokes are rich in pigment. I used bold, almost violent strokes on the blue T-shirt to convey the subject's vital energy. I like the traces of the brush and palette knife to be visible: I want the viewer to feel the effort and joy of the creative act.
Every single brushstroke is an integral part of the visual narrative, giving the work a sense of dynamism and spontaneity. I didn't seek minute detail, but rather the overall impact.

Giuseppe Aveni, a self-taught and instinctive painter, works primarily on canvas using oil paints, palette knives, and charcoal.
