About this artwork
The first thing that happened here was a white, somewhat more compact undergrinding with strong brushstrokes in order to be able to create structures that are then painted over later. Then the transparent red-brown and the black. Then later came the gray-blue to give the warm tones a hold. "Balls" is the name of the picture because it expresses power and potency.

Peter Backhaus is an award-winning artist based in Sweden whose paitnings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Luxembourg, Germany, Denmark, and China. He describes his works as being created in a space that lies between "intellectual thinking and uncontrolled instinct". Backhaus' refers to his compositions as inner pictures with no purpose, where "total silence and total chaos co-exist".
