About this artwork
At the beginning of the 80s the Swedish artist group LOKE tried to work on the subject of "Jesus" in pictures. The project failed, however, because everyone involved found the term Jesus to be too burdensome and tendentious. When Backhaus later developed his spontaneous creative style on his own, the topic came through openly without any hindrances. The internal censorship was switched off.

« My art is uncompromising and direct. It is unique in its poetic, musical expression. The heart is its abode. It connects with the soul's longing for freedom, co-creation and participatory commitment. »
