"St. Denis" is a fantasy painting with architectural references of the Gothic cathedral of St. Denis, that famous church north of Paris, which was groundbreaking for the Gothic era. The strange thing about this picture is that the foundations of this venerable cathedral seem to be sinking into the water. The pillars of the church look like trees with roots that rise to the vaults from an unsafe, muddy ground.
This strange ambiguity, half nature,… half architecture, executed in a cleverly spontaneous painting style, is what makes the painting so interesting.

Through his art, he explores and examines parallel levels of reality as an image subject.
