Buechler paints over a found oil painting from the 1950s. The writing DO NOT GO THERE AS THERE IS NO LAND IN SIGHT influences the underlying image motif in such a way that the image statement is now highly subjective, as each viewer perceives the text individually and reflects it on the motif.

Peter Buechler is a painter, photographer, and sculptor based in Germany whose works have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, in Switzerland and the United States. His artistic practice is marked by the exploration of images and the questioning of their effects, as well as how they move us. In particular, Buechler investigates the result of the manipulation of seemingly banal objects and what it is we think we know.
