The colour is applied with a glazing and staining method using successive layers and washes, enhancing both depth and luminosity. Peter Corr has always been fascinated by the movement towards abstraction and the simplification of subject matter, form, and color. Most of his works occupy a transitional space between figuration and abstraction. Corr always conveys a tension between representational perspective and the canvas as a two-dimensional design. He does not describe a particular place, rather, he is interested in the role played by experiences, events, feelings, as well as the colors and textures that form the visual backdrop of our lives.
