About this artwork
The killer's cold stare is directed straight at the viewer as he crouches over his victim. He almost seems to be flirting with letting the viewer decide whether to stab or not. The woman is holding a pair of scissors, but she seems more likely to injure herself with them. Violence and cruelty are consciously shown in the picture for what they are: beyond good taste and contrary to healthy feelings.
