About this artwork
The work shows a kind of hell garden and is the result of a strange metamorphosis: originally intended as an illustration of Mozart's The Bird Catcher, the picture underwent a complete thematic reorientation through years of overpainting and the successive tormenting of the surface. bodies tormented by flies. It seems as if, in addition to transforming the subject of the picture into a nightmare, abstraction has become pure painting and the enemy of the body.
