About this artwork
This artwork is unique because it is a fresco mounted on 3/4 plywood. The artist learned how to make fresco's at Skowhegan School in Maine. The artist figured out a way to use plaster wire nailed on the wood to hold the plaster in place once dried. These are very rare and there are three out there. One is in the Roger Brown study collection, the other two are in Chicago. The work depicts a dream the artist had of floating and seeing strange… animals in this dream.
« Each painting I make is a search for a spiritual understanding of who I am as an artist and who I can become as a human being. »
Peter Locascio is an American artist whose works have been widely exhibited in the United States. He believes that creating art is more of a spiritual journey than a materialistic one. Locascio's compositions are inspired by Aboriginal, Native American, and Hindu art forms, etc. While some of his pieces convey narratives, others are simply whimsical. He favors painting with oils on canvas.
