About this artwork
A dramatic sunset by the sea: water, wind, sailboats, the setting sun, and the powerful clouds and their reflections on the water create a very atmospheric maritime scene. A modern and expressive acrylic painting.
The maritime diversity of colors, shapes, and the complexity of nature by the sea—its power, delicacy, rhythms, phenomena...—is an important source of inspiration for my maritime paintings. I live by the sea; I enjoy gathering inspiration… for paintings like this on beautiful walks along the North Sea and Baltic Sea beaches: feeling the wind in my hair, smelling the sea, hearing the sound of the waves, seeing the movement of color in the water and the sky.
The painting is stretched on a 4 cm deep gallery stretcher frame and can be hung without an additional frame, as the sides of the picture are also painted.
