In crafting this piece, I immersed myself in the juxtaposition of order and chaos, blending geometric precision with the fluidity of life's unpredictability. The use of oil, graphite, and ink allowed me to encapsulate a sense of a journey through time, signified by symbolic markings that evoke ancient scripts journeying across a futuristic landscape. It's a metaphysical exploration, an invitation to contemplate beyond the immediate, provoking thoughts… of where we've been and where we're headed. This artwork is imbued with a dynamic energy that will bring a contemplative yet invigorating presence into any space.

Peter Pitout is a Franco-South African artist based in France, whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
Drawing from his childhood in Durban and a background in industrial art and design, he creates paintings that balance structured forms with surrealist gestures.
His multidisciplinary practice spans oil painting, embroidery, and conceptual research, often exploring themes of light, vibration, and transformation. Pitout has participated in several art residencies in France and abroad, using these immersive experiences to deepen his artistic inquiry and expand his visual language.
For him, the creative process is a return to inner roots—a space for reflection, reconnection, and the evolution of artistic consciousness.
