Peter Schmitz works primarily in oil on canvas, ink, ballpoint pen, and watercolor, and studied graphic design at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences. His works are representational, but contain abstract elements and are often composed in a collage-like manner. Through his stage-set-like compositions and dramatically positioned figures, he addresses social injustices and invites the viewer to emotionally reflect on our coexistence and our connection with nature.
