About this artwork
Collage, tempex, digital prints, glue cardboard, tape and wood.
Triptych, each panel 100 x 70 x 10 cm.
In the first instance we see a floor plan that connects three separate panels. A closer look reveals that this structure is filled with photographs of ancient excavations, blackened destroyed cities, rebuilt cities, monuments and in the center the stately pillars of a cathedral. Totally different points of view and perspective lines are shaken… here. The fact that in addition to multiple perspectives also different periods in history are mixed together contributes to the epic character of the work. A notable fragment is that of kneeling soldiers in a bombed church with light coming down at the top right. With this classical image of faith and resilience, the artist seems to consider how the fate of the city is connected to that of man and vice versa
