About this artwork
I was in Paris and was fascinated by the many fence subjects. These ivy leaves were a fence that I photographed. Since the faces of the African-American population have appealed to me for a long time, I printed a composition using my gumprint technique with these ivy leaves and the two figures that stand next to each other like father and son, but actually have nothing to do with each other. I created a highlight with the blue in the painting, which… appears behind the figure on the left. As always, my gumprints are unique.
