Petra Goetz works as a painter, draughtswoman, and wood sculptor, with a background in fashion illustration and wood carving. Her technique is characterized by spontaneous, sketch-like methods – her works often emerge without prior planning during a vibrant creative process. She extracts organic forms and bodies from their context and plays with spatiality and connections. Her art conveys a unique vitality, a fascination with transience, and, with great sensitivity, points to the beauty of the imperfect moment. Petra Goetz has been a freelance artist since 1996. She earns her living through commissions in the areas of large-scale murals, drawing, and wood sculpture. Her independent work has been featured in select group exhibitions in southern Germany. Numerous pieces from her solo exhibitions, held over the years in various business premises and company buildings, have been sold into private collections.
