In my work, I explore the delicate balance between vulnerability and purity through the depiction of a young woman with a half-undressed Victorian dress. The beautiful lace sleeve of the dress symbolizes the complexity of her young life, filled with many decisions yet to be made. Her hair, clipped up, indicates that she is not yet ready to fully let go.
The shadows on her back play a profound game, while the sideways sunlight shines on her bare… shoulder and through the lace sleeve. This creates a contemplation of intense longing and restlessness. The Victorian dress exudes a sense of elegance and sophistication.
This work invites the viewer to reflect on the complexity and beauty of human existence, seen through the lens of a single, poignant moment. It is a reflection on the universal themes of vulnerability and purity, and an invitation to ponder the nuances of the transition from youth to adulthood.
