About this artwork
This work is basically a bit older. The original picture "after the rain" was taken in 2016 during a heavy summer thunderstorm. The rain pelted on the skylight of the studio. Then the sun broke through the clouds. The rainwater gurgled down the drain and evaporated on the hot asphalt. The air smelled damp and fresh. All these impressions are captured in this work. Now the painting should get a new frame. On this occasion, the artist could not help… but continue to paint on her work, so that it is now presented in a completely new way and with a simple, white shadow gap frame. In this work, shades of blue dominate, as well as earthy brown and sunny yellow. The use of stains during the painting process creates wonderfully fine lines and exciting gradients that are reminiscent of underwater plants. A really exciting picture.
