German painter and graphic artist Petra Kasten was born in 1955. When she is not traveling, she lives and works in Dresden. She studied at the HfBK in Dresden (1976-1982) and was a master student under Prof. Günter Horlbeck (1986-1988). She received scholarships for work stays in Rome in 1994, in Ohio in 1996 and Beijing in 2009/2011.
