About this artwork
Jack Rabbit Ridge is a vintage serigraph, hand pulled in a small edition. The stencils were partially hand-drawn and partially photographic. The photographic details are achieved by making a set of transparencies, each with a slightly different exposure (a reductionist method). This scene is from the Smoke Creek Desert (Nevada) which is adjacent to the larger Black Rock Desert, once home to the Lahontan Ocean. The photo was taken during the Harmonic…

Phil Dynan is an American painter and sculptor who has exhibited his works throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. With a career spanning over 50 years, he has experimented with varying styles and mediums. Having mainly used serigraphy and acrylics in his art, he now paints using water-based oils, which facilitates blending. Dynan also creates mixed-media sculptures made from birchwood and plaster.
