About this artwork
The "Missing Ewe" is from Brasil. She lives on an island where Strawberry Guavas (Feijoas) are raised and worshiped as the sacred fruit that they are. This acrylic on Arches watercolour paper is part of a small collection of paintings by the artist that illustrate and explore the Island of Feijoas. This ewe has simply wandered off to a remote part of the island and will soon return to her group. In the meantime, islanders on bicycles are out searching…

Phil Dynan is an American painter and sculptor who has exhibited his works throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. With a career spanning over 50 years, he has experimented with varying styles and mediums. Having mainly used serigraphy and acrylics in his art, he now paints using water-based oils, which facilitates blending. Dynan also creates mixed-media sculptures made from birchwood and plaster.
