About this artwork
A variation on Mondrian and Rainbows. The colour blue is injected into the design scheme. The artist was studying the work of Mondrian and discovered a variety of artists who used this same style during the time Mondrian was painting. Dynan wanted to paint in this style and "update" the theme, so the rainbows were added to give the style a fresh look. This painting is meticulously painted by the artist without the use of masking tape.

Phil Dynan is an American painter and sculptor who has exhibited his works throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. With a career spanning over 50 years, he has experimented with varying styles and mediums. Having mainly used serigraphy and acrylics in his art, he now paints using water-based oils, which facilitates blending. Dynan also creates mixed-media sculptures made from birchwood and plaster.
