About this artwork
This piece is from the artists' "Furlanida" series. This series features animals that live with the artists, Phil Dynan and Anastasia Nelson, in their Accidental Animal Rescue Center (Northern California). The artists have been taking in animals, large and small, since 2004. The Furlandia paintings are set in an imaginary world that is inhabited by animals only. Phil Dynan is an American painter and sculptor who has exhibited his works throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. With a career spanning over 50 years, he has experimented with varying styles and mediums. Having mainly used serigraphy and acrylics in his art, he now paints using water-based oils, which facilitates blending. Dynan also creates mixed-media sculptures made from birchwood and plaster.
