3 bronze parts with distinctly different colours on each face separated by polished edges, all on a fumed oak base. An ideal table sculpture.
The smooth, patinated bronze curves rise like gentle peaks, grounded by the warm wooden base.
Anybody coming across this sculpture can add their own memories, stories, emotions and interpretation. In this way the sculpture becomes personal and meaningful to that person alone. It is not pegged to any one… association or connotation. It is a work that does not challenge you to think, it exists simply to be enjoyed, scrutinised in close-up detail and without being overwhelming create ambiance and enhance the space that it occupies.
Looking and responding is a collaboration between the artist and the onlooker.
« Inspired by events of the natural world, I put all of myself into making sculptures which I hope strike a chord and evoke emotion in those who encounter them. »
Philip Hearsey is an experienced British sculptor who has exhibited his work throughout the UK. Rather than engaging in specific theories, he is driven by an instinctive urge to progress at his own pace and focus on making things. He turns observations and visualizations into 3-dimensional realities, harnessing his specialty in sandcasting to make sculptures that engage the quality of bronze as a noble material in its own right. Hearsey's pieces showcase smart simplicity, intriguing shapes and a tactile touch.
