About this artwork
Sculpture is mainly concerned with shapes, not ideas. Shapes have a power which acts upon our eyes and minds in a unique way, often unspoken and not easily expressed in words.
Response IV is cast in solid bronze and stands on a circular oxidised brass base. Circular bases allow a sculpture to be turned but always face forward although this sculpture has a definite preference. Natural bronze shows on the sweeping curve.
Response IV can be sited… inside or out where the same qualities have differing impact.
