About this artwork
I’ve been captivated by Western films and frontier legends for as long as I can remember. This painting depicts a striking mountain range in the sky islands of southeastern Arizona known as the Mustang Mountains. The distinctive stone formation at the center is called Little Biscuit, named for its unmistakable shape.
My inspiration comes from imagining that Geronimo himself once looked upon this very peak, unchanged for thousands of years. He fought… fiercely for this land, claiming it as his own, and its rugged beauty would have stood witness to countless moments of survival, conflict, and resilience. In this artwork, I try to honor both the landscape’s raw power and the stories it silently holds.
