Philip Tyler is an experienced British painter who has exhibited his work throughout the UK. Interested in the relationship between the materiality of painting and its potential to create illusionary space, and additionally drawn to melancholy, he composes figurative works marked by motifs of grief and loss. His body of work includes representations of urban solitude, nudes that explore gesture and light, and contemplative portraits.
