Philippa Jasper is an intuitive painter. For her painting process, which, despite the figuration, is always about the material paint itself, she mainly uses acrylic and oil paints, which she sometimes supplements with lacquer and spray paints. She experiments with spontaneous painting techniques and combines representational elements with abstract forms. Her works are fascinating mixtures of the inner, subconscious and real world that bring fantastic and mysterious worlds to life. Her pictures radiate emotions and create sometimes bizarre, sometimes dark, always mysterious, but often simply beautiful and energetic worlds that invite the viewer to explore.
