French sculptor Philippe Gourier's work has been shown throughout Europe. Gourier's artistic career has followed what he describes as an "almost mathematical evolution.¨ He began working simply with points, then lines, next surfaces, and has finally arrived at volumes. Gourier works with steel and plexiglass to create works alive with tension, lines of force, and striking uses of negative space.
