About this artwork
This view was painted from the restaurant "la Balette", which has been present for decades with a change of successive owners, but which has kept a room which was called at the time "the Jamin room". The owners, whom the artist knew very well, had exhibited their collection of his works purchased over the years, for the record.
One evening when the desire to paint was stronger than anything and the lack of sleep the artist climbed on this hill overlooking… all this beautiful Catalan village and was able to express the so particular lights of a full moonlight.

Philippe Jamin is a French painter and sculptor whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United Kingdom. His works speak of the union of couples and explore themes relating to love, passion, sensuality, tenderness, complicity, the beauty of bodies, etc. Jamin believes that painting is the art of silence and of sustained attention. His painterly compositions are created with oils on canvas, and he employs marble, resin, and bronze in his sculptural pieces.
