About this artwork
In this work I sought to capture the intensity and purity of maternal love through expressionist style. Using soft lilac and pink tones, I sketched the flowing, enveloping shapes to represent a secure and loving embrace. The oil allows me to give sensory depth, evoking the infinite warmth and tenderness between a mother and her child. This painting symbolizes union and protection, adding an aura of peace to any living space.

« Art is the pursuit of the infinite, it is arcane, it is magic. Its practices are metaphysical activities, similar to religious magic. »
Philippe Jamin is a French painter and sculptor whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United Kingdom. His works speak of the union of couples and explore themes relating to love, passion, sensuality, tenderness, complicity, the beauty of bodies, etc. Jamin believes that painting is the art of silence and of sustained attention. His painterly compositions are created with oils on canvas, and he employs marble, resin, and bronze in his sculptural pieces.
