About this artwork
This work is a tribute to the luminous strength of women and the delicacy of maternal bonds. I wanted to paint this woman as a living sun, giving fruit, life and warmth. On her head, a basket overflowing with tropical abundance and, on her back, a child who seems to be part of her, like an extension of her love.
The setting is that of a world I have always encountered on my travels between the sea and the mountains, between colorful villages and… boats gliding on the water. It is a joyful, almost festive scene, but also deeply intimate.
Through bold colors, stylized shapes, and expressive looks, I am trying to capture the simple joy that comes from everyday life, connection, and sharing. This painting is a celebration of life, sunshine, motherly love, and the roots that each of us carries within, and of the Brazil 🇧🇷 that I love so much.
« My world is that of an eternal teenager, who, thanks to colors, invents new horizons. »
Philippe Seigle, a painter based in France, has exhibited his works nationally, as well as in Brazil, Italy, the United States, Mexico, and Morocco. Having lived in several exotic countries, Seigle was influenced by and has kept his penchant for bright colors. Describing himself as a naive colorist, his compositions feature characters whose paths intersect. His vibrant pieces are created using acrylics on canvas.
