About this artwork
In this piece, I reflect my immersive experience in the Australian outback at Pender Bay, using the raw essence of earth red soils, grid and water from the source, blending acrylic, watercolour, and natural elements to evoke life's cycles. The abstract, symbolic shapes flow with primal energy, inviting you to feel the land's heartbeat. It brings a grounded yet vibrant spirit to any space, connecting you deeply to nature’s timeless rhythms and the… story beneath your feet.
Phillip Roös, with a PhD in Architecture and training in painting and drawing, weaves his deep knowledge of natural forms and biophilia into paintings, drawings, and sculpture. His style merges primal, gestural mark-making with earthy palettes and tactile surfaces, blending abstraction and landscape, occasionally highlighting wildlife with near-realistic renditions. His evocative pieces awaken a primal emotional resonance and ecological memory, stirring viewers to feel an inseparable connection between humanity and the living world.
