« My works are colorful, optimistic, vibrating, living with the changing daylight, and offering the spectator room to contemplate. I enjoy cooperating with specific commissions. »
Pia Andersen's works have been featured in solo exhibitions in her native Denmark, as well as in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Egypt, Norway, and Germany. Nature and light are her principal inspirations, though she does not seek its realistic portrayal. Instead, Andersen's paintings create a nature of their own, highlighting the positive side of living. Her artistic process is lengthy, as she takes her time building up many layers of oils on canvas.
