About this artwork
Pierre Le Preux is interested in his painting in the themes of passage and trace. Here, the diptych "TRACES V" made up of 2 panels of almost identical formats, invites us to follow the path already traced by others, and in turn, we will leave our footprints for others to follow. A story of the passage of gestures, of presences, of durability, of continuity.
The reading immerses us in a landscape from the first fruits to the day, made of hills and… leaving an important part to the sky. We like to imagine this long path, this path, which invites us to travel. The essential is said, the rest is up to the viewer to make this work their own.
The diptych painting format allows for a more dynamic and expressive composition than that of a single panel, by playing on the relationships between the two parts and creating visual movement. This format offers some flexibility for presentation and staging, allowing them to be arranged together or at a slight distance.
