About this artwork
The triptych of engravings entitled 201C0011 ABC -alignment of 3 angles with entas-, is part of the series entitled "Entasis" that Pierre Muckensturm has been developing since 2019.
Entasis is applying an imperceptible curvature that allows what is not right to appear straight. To correct the slight distortion created by perspective, the architects of ancient Greece finely curved the columns of their temples so that the rational eye trained the… irrational brain to see a missing rectilinear perfection.
It is this game of unregulated rule that interests and that Pierre Muckensturm declines in this series.
Each element of this triptych measures 50x50 cm.
Technique: Carborundum and drypoint on copper printed on BFK Rives 250 gr / m2 paper
Edition 8 copies signed, dated and numbered in pencil on the front, titled on the back.
