« I try to concentrate by pruning as much as possible what could interfere with the thing represented, I end up showing only a face, a wall, a door... with all kinds of possible variations. »
French painter Pierre Sojo grew up in an artistic family, and has been drawing from a young age. Sojo is inspired by real, concrete objects and figures. However, he's discovered that reality - even at its most banal - has its share of fantasy and mystery. After experimenting with a variety of materials throughout his career, Sojo settled on acrylic, due to his desire to paint quickly. Sojo's style is a modern and refined realism, and he pays special attention to light, sky, and human faces.
