Peter Flan is a chromatic and emotional field. In this medium-format piece, shown in the raw atmosphere of my studio in the image, I explore the tension between the irony of its title and the visceral brutality of the material. It is a work built through impulse, where layers of paint overlap, erasing and rescuing the… history of the canvas.
A vortex of dense blacks and industrial grays is pierced by a vertical axis of turquoise blue, a light that attempts to impose order on the chaos. However, it is the final stroke of carmine red and the dramatic drip of white paint that seals the work's energy. There is no timidity in the brushstrokes; there is urgency, physicality, and urban playfulness.

My work has been exhibited in cities including Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Milan, Copenhagen, London, and Mexico City, and is held in private collections worldwide.
