About this artwork
In 1984, the worlds worst industrial disaster happened, in Bhopal, India. A toxic gas leaked from a nearby chemical plant. The toxic tentacles killed and maimed thousands. The gold colour in the painting reflects that financial gain was put above human pain, the rust colour reflects the rusting hulk of the chemical plant that is still there. Still leaking toxins into the ground. The are has never been properly cleaned up.
