This is a completely unique and original PMS Painted Wooden Sculpture. It is only the second one of its kind in a sub series of my assemblage works. It is part of a larger series that epitomizes a technique and aesthetic I have been working to perfect over the years and takes them to a new level, both literally and figuratively. This sculpture is as if one of my "Messy Geometrical" paintings or assembled pieces came to life, popped off the surface… and began stacking themselves up toward the sky. Themes in my work of construction, deconstruction, vibrant color, form, texture and decay exist in this piece and have been amplified by a complete breaking of the plane, turning into an actual sculpture. This adds a wonderful new element of shadow and versatility to the piece. I have continued my obsession with incorporating found and recycled materials and assembled them into a painted wooden geometrical sculpture. It is beautiful and rugged and fun to look at from multiple angles.

Preston M. Smith is an exciting American painter whose works have been widely exhibited across the United States. Interested in construction and deconstruction, and always seeking to work in a state of pure emotion, he composes striking abstract paintings and inventive portraits that reflect order in chaos, beauty in madness.
