About this artwork
Most artists who delve into the Expressionist movement at any level attempt to visualize human emotion rather than to employ the manipulation of defined images. Mark Rothko once stated, “ I try to express complex human emotions with simple imagery”. Insofar as the style emerged from a radical rejection of industrialization and wholesale conformity, one might believe that every expressionist artist is suffering from anxiety and emotional angst,… even rage. When I produce works with expressionist techniques, I try to remain tethered to an allegorical theme. Bless TheM All is an example of a return to some degree of discipline and tenacity in my craft. I liken it to a musician playing scales to reassure himself/ herself that he/she has not fallen off his/her foundation. These tedious geometric constructions are quite allegorical in themselves; however, I reserve that discussion with whomever connects with the work. I am, after all, a “cult artist”.
Quinn Stilletto, a diverse artist trained in multiple disciplines, expresses his creativity through painting, photography, sculpture and conceptual art. Utilizing a broad spectrum of styles and techniques, his work resonates as an editorial commentary; each piece an unique fusion of expressionist and colorist appeal. Stilletto's artistry thematically gravitates towards universal life experiences, presenting an intimate, visceral response to human emotions and spirituality.
