About this artwork
I was recently in the CITY and having brunch with a friend. I did not recognize the name of the street upon which the diner stood so I pulled up google maps. Fortunately, it was in an area quite familiar to me. I began my trek from Saint Brigid’s Church , my old parish , and headed in a northwest vector. This promenade took me past several memories of a gentler time when it was simply “understood” that if you went to a party you were likely to stay…
the night. I remembered mornings like this one when I would wake up on the floor having used my jacket as a pillow and would pan the room wondering if any of these other blue jeans contained the guys with whom I traded guitar riffs the night before. I would look around for the “chicks” who sang the Mary part when we played “ If I Had a Hammer” I had no idea then how significant those moments would be today.
