About this artwork
The viewer sees a lonely boat on a lake. The title alludes to the saying, derived from Heraclitus, that one cannot step into the same river twice, because time means change. With the depiction of the lake, the personal perception of the painter who visited the lake is mixed with the narrated memories of her grandmother, who swam here as a child and asked her to look for this lake on her journey. It is probably not the same flow for both.
