They are cherished objects of romanticized memory are surrounded by the murky darkness of passing time. Strangely abandoned, yet brilliantly alive, beckoning us to remember.

« The elusive past and intangible future, initially concealed, become a fully realized vision in the present moment through a balance between controlling and letting go. »
Rachel Paxton is an experienced US painter with national exposure. Paxton received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from the School of The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She composes work in both realistic and abstract styles often working with thick acrylic paint ideal for creating texture on the canvas. Themes such as mid-century aesthetics, Americana, kitsch, boomerangs and atomic motifs are combined to create paintings that are brilliantly alive while simultaneously quirky and curious.
