About this artwork
This work was created in Madrid and was awarded second prize in the Plaza de Dalí Quick Painting Competition in the Salamanca district. It is a unique opportunity to acquire an award-winning piece by this artist, as in these types of competitions, the winning works are kept by the City Council.
The work, executed in a single color without the use of white, depicts a corner of Columbus Square in Madrid and plays with the reflections on a sheet of… water. As a subtle nod to Dalí's work, the artist has placed one of those clocks bent by time on the monument to the discovery of Columbus.
Artist with more than 250 painting awards in Spain.
The artwork is delivered ready to hang with black strips around the perimeter.
« I think I won't have enough life to finish starting to paint. As I move forward and progress I realize there is still MORE to say. »
Rafael Carrascal García is an award-winning Spanish painter who has extensively exhibited throughout Spain, as well as in China. While working as a draftsman and technical architect, he never abandoned his passion for painting and the desire to express the subconscious. Now, as a professional artist, García’s works explore atmospheric landscapes that are filled with fantastical elements. When creating, he uses mixed media such as oils and acrylics, painting outside as much as possible.
