About this artwork
This painting was painted during a fruitful stay on the Costa Brava by Rafael Vicente as a new savage, in the coastal town of Cadaqués, it is very representative of his current time.
Story of a shipwrecked-SAVIOR OF THE WORLD, through troubled waters, sea encrusted, boat adrift and shipwrecked as lord of the world carrying seeds to plant on the New island to discover.
The image of the shipwrecked person appears as playing with a sphere as if it… were a ball, sphere and man form like a caricature in which the world is dwarfed and the human figure ends up as a giant dominating the world.
The work only indicates a peak moment of man when he takes the reins of a feat in which he transforms into a giant and then once the goal has been reached, it becomes real human size and the planetary sphere becomes a mere crystal ball where the future is envisioned.

Rafael Vicente is a painter and draftsman based in Spain whose works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally, as well as in Italy and Andorra. Creating in a neo-expressionist style, his art conveys everything that is related to nature. Vicente's expressive figurative compositions are first conceived through sketches, which are then elaborated upon through the complexity of his artistic process.
