About this artwork
The work "The Stage" originated from working with young people. The real stage offers an opportunity to showcase one's talent, slip into a different role, and discover new aspects of oneself. In real life, we make commitments, fulfill the expectations of others, and are integrated into social networks. It is important that we don't lose touch with our own needs and remain grounded.
I painted the picture using the traditional glazing technique with… many different layers of oil paint. This makes it glow and radiate a magical atmosphere.
Rainer Bergmann is a painter who runs a studio for figurative painting and a psychological counseling practice specializing in supervision and coaching. Both fields flow into one another and enrich each other greatly. The focus in both fields is the human being and his core themes. He works in oil and acrylic on canvas, with his background in Byzantine icon painting and psychological counseling. His style is influenced by figurative painting, traditional glazing techniques, French Impressionists, and contemporary Realists. His works convey profound reflections on identity, relationships, and existential questions, inviting the viewer to engage in intensive communication and personal exploration.
