About this artwork
A woman on her way. With a few, strong lines, which become finer in some places and reveal details, the person's exterior is depicted in order to reflect the inner state of mind. In the background the person is shown as a whole figure, walking, with his bags packed. A departure at sunrise or sunset, a step into a new phase of life.
The works in this series focus entirely on the line. The backgrounds are designed flat, the lines determine the emotion… or feeling for the motif depicted.
This work was drawn on the computer and, with its hard, sharp-edged lines and surfaces, is ideal for use on acrylic glass. C-Print with the highest quality 8-color digital print, acrylic glass (3 mm) on aluminum composite panel (3 mm), gallery hanging. Edition: 5 pieces, signed, numbered. This copy: No. 1/5.

« Everything that touches you deeply has to do with the way we move here on earth. Personal feelings are transferred to others and become universal. »
Ralf Schmidt is an experimented German artist whose paintings have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in the Netherlands. His figurative works portray inner realities, as well as individual aspects and situations that connect with "collective feeling". Schmidt's compositions have their own unique image structure, wherein the motif represented in the middle is "torn from the original context".
